Q1: What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for custom alloy steel forgings?
A: We accept single-piece custom orders with no minimum quantity. Whether you need one prototype or a production batch, our flexible forging process accommodates your project scale. Small quantities are welcome.
Q2: How long is the lead time for prototypes versus mass production?
A: Prototype lead time is 15-20 days including tooling and sampling. Mass production orders typically ship within 4-6 weeks after sample approval. Rush services are available for urgent projects.
Q3: What quality inspections do you perform and what reports are provided?
A: We perform 100% ultrasonic testing (UT) per SEP 1921 or ASTM A388, plus mechanical testing (tensile, impact, hardness). You will receive a complete quality dossier including material certificate, heat treatment curves, and inspection reports.
Q4: What material grades are available?
A: We offer a wide range including 42CrMo4, 34CrNiMo6, 17-4PH, 4140, 4340, and equivalents to AISI, DIN, EN, and GB standards. Custom chemistries are also available upon request.
Q5: What is the maximum size and weight you can forge?
A: Our maximum single forging weight is 15 tons (33,000 lbs), with a maximum diameter of 2.5 meters (98 inches). Larger sizes are available on a case-by-case basis – please contact us with your specific requirements.
Q6: What warranty and after-sales support do you offer?
A: We provide an 18-month warranty from shipment date covering material and workmanship defects. If any forging fails due to our manufacturing error, we replace it at no cost and cover expedited shipping.
