Características
It is a kind of medium alloyed cold work tool steel that is usually supplied quenched and tempered, high
hardening capacity, through hardenability and toughness, good weldability, excellent surface hardenability.

Aplicações
For making cutting inserts for segmented tool, punching tools, shear knives, plastic moulds, cutting tools.

Tratamento Térmico
Recozimento
820 to 860°C
Resfriamento lento e controlado em forno, a uma taxa de 10 a 20 °C/h, até aproximadamente 600 °C; posterior resfriamento ao ar.
Hardness after annealing: max. 240 HB.

Alívio de Tensões
600 to 650°C
Resfriamento lento em forno; destinado a aliviar tensões geradas por usinagem extensa ou por peças de geometria complexa.
Após o aquecimento completo, manter em atmosfera neutra por 1 a 2 horas.

Endurecimento
950 a 980°C
Complex shapes/air, simple shapes/air blast, oil, salt bath from (220 to 250°C or 500 to 550°C). Holding time
after temperature equalization: 15 to 30 minutes.
Dureza obtida: 63 – 65 HRC.

Revenimento
Slow heating to tempering temperature immediately after hardening/time in furnace
1hour for each 20 mm of work piece thickness, but at least 2 hours/cooling in air.
